Prof. em. Dr. med. Peter Diem
Prof. Peter Diem is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board at PharmaSens. He is a Medical Doctor and Professor Emeritus of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition at the University Hospital Bern, Switzerland. Prof. Diem also serves as President of diabetesschweiz (Swiss Diabetes Association, www.diabetesschweiz.ch). His primary expertise is in the individualized optimization of diabetes care, particularly through advancing treatment personalization and patient outcomes in endocrinology and diabetes management.
Assoz. Prof. Dr. med. Julia Mader
Julia Mader is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetology at Medical University of Graz and Deputy Head of the Diabetes Outpatient Clinic. Her research focuses on diabetes technology with emphasis on insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, automated insulin delivery systems and decision support systems.
Prof. rer. nat. Dr. Lutz Heinemann
Lutz Heinemann is a member of national and international diabetes associations. He also sits on the Scientific Advisory Boards of various pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies. Since 2011, he has been the Managing Editor of the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology. Professor Heinemann’s research is focused on insulin pharmacology and diabetes technology.
Prof. Dr. med. Pierre-Yves Benhamou
Pierre-Yves Benhamou is Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at University Hospital Grenoble Alpes, France, and an endocrinologist with a main clinical focus on type 1 diabetes, namely cell therapy, islet transplantation and innovative technologies. Professor Benhamou is also appointed chief medical officer at Diabeloop SA in the field of automated insulin delivery systems.
Dr. med. Guido Freckmann
Guido Freckmann is Medical Director and CEO of The Institute for Diabetes Technologies (IfDT) at the Ulm University, Germany. IfDT is an independent organization specialized on clinical research in the area of the testing of systems for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pumps. Dr. Freckmann has more than 20 years experience in advanced studies of medical devices for diabetes therapy.
Prof. Dr. med. Kirsten Nørgaard
Kirsten Nørgaard is heading the research group Diabetes Technology Research at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Denmark and an active clinician focusing on adults with type 1 diabetes at the the clinic serving 11,000 patients. She is a professor at University of Copenhagen, and has for years provided education courses for patients, students, and health care professionals nationally and internationally in the use of diabetes technology. Her research interest is broadly within optimal treatment possibilities for type 1 and type 2 diabetes using different types of technologies.

Urs Meyer is Medical Doctor, Professor em. of Pharmacology, Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland. Former Chairman of the Biozentrum. Extensive experience as advisor to organizations (WHO, INH, FDA) and companies in the field of biotechnology, drug development and medical devices in relation to personalized and precision medicine.

Gregor Zünd
Gregor Zünd, former CEO of University Hospital Zurich, is a cardiovascular surgeon and medical researcher. Beyond his leadership role, he has been deeply involved in advancing healthcare innovation, collaborating with the medical device industry to drive cutting-edge technological developments and improve patient outcomes.
James Peterson
James Peterson is retired CEO of the public medtech company Haemonetics (NYSE:HAE). At the inspiration of his diabetic daughter, he founded two insulin pump companies (Asante Solutions and CeQur). He worked at Warburg Pincus LLC investing in diabetes technologies and was a long serving member of the Board of the Joslin Diabetes Center. He is a bioengineer from the University of Washington with an MBA from Stanford University.

Robert Gabbay is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and former Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of American Diabetes Association. Passionate diabetes executive with expertise in chronic care models, primary care transformation, technology, and digital health. Former CMO at Joslin, Harvard’s diabetes center.
